MOSCOW: Russian President Vladimir Putin has demanded that Ukraine “immediately” suspend military operations before the country or face responsibility for possible bloodshed, as he recognizes the independence of separatists in eastern Ukraine.
“We demand an immediate end to the military operation,” Putin said in an hour-long national address to Ukraine’s leadership late Monday night. “Otherwise, all responsibility for the possible continuation of the bloodshed rests entirely with the conscience of the ruler in power in Ukraine,” he added.
